The AS850 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge is a compact and intelligent handheld thickness measuring instrument designed for fast, accurate, and non-destructive thickness measurement of various industrial materials. Utilizing advanced ultrasonic measurement technology and microprocessor-based control, the AS850 enables users to determine material thickness from a single accessible surface without causing damage to the test piece.
Suitable for metals, plastics, ceramics, glass, and other materials that efficiently transmit ultrasonic waves, the AS850 is widely used in manufacturing facilities, metal fabrication workshops, maintenance departments, inspection companies, and quality assurance applications.
One of the primary advantages of ultrasonic thickness measurement is the ability to monitor material loss due to corrosion, erosion, wear, or prolonged service exposure. This makes the AS850 particularly useful for inspecting tanks, pressure vessels, pipes, structural components, machinery parts, and fabricated metal products where material integrity is critical.
To simplify operation, the AS850 includes 12 preset sound velocity settings for commonly measured materials. Users can quickly select the appropriate material for accurate thickness measurement. For materials not included in the preset list, the sound velocity can be manually adjusted, providing flexibility across a wider range of applications.
The instrument also features automatic calibration and auto linear compensation technology, helping improve measurement accuracy and transducer performance. A supplied 4mm sample block allows users to perform calibration checks whenever required, ensuring measurement confidence before inspection work begins.
With a measurement range of 1.2mm to 225mm (steel), storage for up to 10 measurement readings, coupling indication, low battery warning, and automatic power-off functionality, the AS850 delivers dependable performance for both field and workshop use.
