The VM6360 Vibration Meter is a versatile handheld instrument developed for periodic vibration measurements and machine condition monitoring in industrial environments. Designed in accordance with ISO 2954 guidelines for vibration measurement, it provides a practical and cost-effective solution for maintenance personnel, engineers, reliability teams, and service technicians.
Vibration is one of the most effective indicators of machine health. Excessive vibration often signals developing faults such as imbalance, shaft misalignment, bearing wear, looseness, resonance, or mechanical deterioration. By monitoring vibration levels regularly, maintenance teams can identify issues early and schedule corrective actions before equipment failure occurs.
The VM6360 measures three essential vibration parameters:
- Velocity (True RMS)
- Acceleration (Equivalent Peak)
- Displacement (Equivalent Peak-to-Peak)
In addition, the instrument includes RPM measurement capability, allowing users to verify machine rotational speed alongside vibration readings.
For improved measurement consistency, the supplied piezoelectric accelerometer can be mounted using the included rare-earth magnetic base. This helps ensure reliable sensor positioning and repeatable readings across inspections.
The wide frequency response of up to 10kHz enables the VM6360 to detect both low-frequency structural vibration and higher-frequency vibration associated with bearing defects and mechanical wear. Optional headphones may also be connected, allowing the meter to function as a simple electronic stethoscope for bearing condition assessment.
