The AS862A (previously also known as IR862A) Infrared Thermometer is a professional handheld non-contact temperature measuring instrument designed for fast and reliable surface temperature measurements. By detecting the infrared energy emitted from an object’s surface, it enables users to obtain temperature readings instantly without making physical contact.

Unlike conventional contact thermometers, the AS862A is ideal for measuring hot, moving, electrically energised, hazardous, or difficult-to-access surfaces. This makes it an excellent choice for preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, quality control, HVAC servicing, automotive diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and industrial process monitoring.

With a wide measurement range of -50°C to 900°C, the AS862A is capable of measuring everything from refrigerated surfaces to high-temperature industrial equipment. Its adjustable emissivity (0.10–1.00)  allows users to optimize measurement accuracy across various materials such as painted metals, plastics, ceramics, rubber, concrete, and many other common industrial surfaces.

The integrated laser target pointer helps users accurately identify the measurement area, while the 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio enables temperature measurements from a safe working distance. Combined with a rapid response time of less than 500 milliseconds, users can quickly perform inspections without interrupting production or maintenance activities.

For improved usability, the AS862A features a clear backlit LCD display, selectable °C or °F units, Data Hold function, and Auto Power Off to extend battery life. Its lightweight ergonomic design also provides comfortable operation during extended inspection work.
